The AE315ZR features a Venetian cutaway body shape with a solid Sitka spruce top with scalloped cross-bracing and ziricote with sapwood back (with Tone Projection cross bracing) and sides with a gloss finish.
 
The soundhole is round with an abalone and maple rosette. It has a satin-finished nyatoh neck with a 20-fret cultured maple fingerboard with special mother of pearl vine inlay.
Components include a compensated bone saddle in a cultured maple bridge with Ibanez Advantage pins, a bone nut, a tortoise pickguard and chrome die-cast tuning machines. Electronics consist of a T-bar undersaddle pickup connected to an Ibanez Custom Electronics preamp mounted internally with a ¼" endpin output.
